Winner of the Birmingham Post Business Award.

2006

Winner of the Cast Metals Federation Company of the Year Award.

In the 2006, Darcast Crankshafts Limited won the CMF Company Achievement Award for its technical and commercial developments over the previous 18 months.

John Parker, Chief Executive of the Cast Metals Federation Commented that “Darcast has been at the forefront of development in our industry. Technically, the company’s launch of a specialist high-strength cast iron has enabled engine manufacturers to reduce their costs by using a cast iron crankshaft rather then a steel forged unit characteristically found in high demand engines. This has enabled Darcast to increase sales of crankshafts by 32% overall and 70% to export markets, which is a massive achievement, and with material unique to Darcast, bringing considerable benefits to the UK casting industry”.
